What is Sciatica? Sciatica is a strong dull or burning ache that runs
down the posterior (back) or lateral (side) sides of ones leg, which may also
cause weakness, numbness or tingling in the area. The Sciatic nerve runs down both legs from the lower back. The Sciatica pain can be caused by
pressure that gets pushed onto the Sciatic nerve from a slipped disc, or it can be caused by an inflamed or tight piriformis muscle
in the buttocks, a tumor, or an injury.

Acupuncture For Depression
Warning: Do not drink alcohol if you are taking
anti-depressant medication, it may exaggerate the feelings of depression.
A little alcohol in general is actually healthy for you, but
it is also toxic to the body especially combined with the effects of any
anti-depressant medication. In Chinese medicine depression is attributed to the
liver and heart, which can then cause issues in the lungs, kidneys and spleen.
Since the liver is one of the main organs attributed to depression, taking a
toxic medicinal substance (anti-depressant) plus alcohol gives the liver a lot
of work to do, which over time can weaken it along with all the other organs in
the body.

Acupuncture and Mother Nature for Cold and Flu Season
September is upon us and the transition into autumn is
happening, we can feel it in the air, see it in the leaves and for some of us
feel it in our noses. This time of
year is a perfect time to look into natural ways to boost the immune system.
Both Mother Nature and Acupuncture can be used to greatly boost the immune
system and resolve cold and flu symptoms, along with reducing the risk of catching one.
